The Healing Field

Investigates whether collective relational environments influence physiological healing processes.

Law, Belonging, and the Restoration of Coherence

Research Focus

We explores an Anangu perspective on healing, specifically through the teachings of elder Bob Randall, which challenge Western biomedical and psychological models. Rather than viewing wellness as a result of external clinical interventions, this framework defines healing as a natural consequence of restoring “Kanyini,” or a lawful relationship with family, spirit, and the land. Suffering is interpreted not as an internal dysfunction, but as a relational rupture or a disconnection from the living field that sustains existence. To achieve wholeness, an individual must return to a state of unconditional love and responsibility toward the more-than-human world. We emphasize that practices like ceremony, song, and deep listening are regulatory tools that maintain balance rather than mere cultural expressions. Ultimately, the text argues that true recovery cannot be engineered or outsourced, as it only occurs when belonging and systemic coherence are re-established.
