Vision as Adaptive Organization

We present a systems-theoretical framework that redefines vision as a process of adaptive organization rather than a passive mechanism for internal representation. By examining prism adaptation, we argues that visual perturbations act as structured triggers that force the entire perception-action system to reorganize. These interventions do not merely correct optical errors; they influence posture, movement, and spatial awareness by altering how an organism interacts with its environment. We synthesize concepts from dynamical systems theory and ecological psychology to explain why subtle visual changes can produce broad, persistent behavioral shifts. This research suggests that vision is an active regulator of biological coherence, offering a new model for understanding both clinical outcomes and the fundamental nature of self-organizing behavior.
